Editing
Last Thursday we were able to go to the schools media/editing suit to edit our prelims that we made in class the other week.
The software we used to edit was called 'final cut pro' this is a simple and easy to use editing software, they have used this sort of quick software on films like 'true grit'. Bigger films obviously use a more technical and intricate software; but when trying to finish a film quickly final cut pro is the simplest one to use.
We first leant how to check our work in and out as they said this is the most important thing to remember as our work on a big software that everyone in the school uses the work is easily lost.
When we found our work after going through a multiple amount of folders; we got to see all the clips that we had. We had a presentation from Matt about how to cut clips and match the shots and use all camera angles; even matching a movement shot to make the pre-lim flow through naturally.
Watching our pre-lim back was extremely embarrassing for me and Rachel and we learnt that maybe acting isn't a profession we should look into. We learnt about rush bins and log bins were we would store our work to keep it organised
We it came to cutting the shots and editing it; I absolutely loved it, I found it so fun to match the shots and change to view point to make it engaging for the audience. Our pre-lim was extremely short but we filled out the space with using pregnant pauses and shot that we thought were rubbish at start but really did fill out the fast pace of the clip.
