finishing digipak

After finalizing our choice of pictures of what we would use for the digipak, we started thinking of the overall design we wanted.

We used Photoshop to edit and make our designs; we tried different layers and filters as a group so that we could all have a say. For the front of the digipak we used a close up of Maria; this is an established convention of pop as it establishes the artists brand as a single artist, pop is always about image; this is why we swayed away from using art work as the front cover which we were going to initially use:

The picture of Maria that we used was a flattering shot that we took with a cannon camera. It was a shallow depth of field so that the skin looked flawless. We edited on coloured eye shadow and lipstick to match the colour of the font; these aspects created an aesthetically pleasing front cover.
On the actual CD we used the first design we made (through scanning a girl called Heidi's eye which then ran through an app on an iPhone which turned it into this image). We knew we needed color to match the video so that all the products linked through visual style.
