finishing and re- drafting the website
The website that we had made was really not up to scratch- because of this i took it upon myself to completely re-draft it. As you can see from the two pictures below the website wasn't useful or good to look at. Pop websites should be all about color and the artist themselves and this website wasn't doing it.
The images that be had Ned had previously taken on a stills camera where still useful in this new process, i had loads to choose from; i tried to pick the one i thought was most flattering for Maria. After i chose the photo i went into photo shopped and flipped the image, this was because i knew i wanted my navigation bar down the left side of Marias body. I then went on to use that Photoshop layers to experiment with colour. I obviously didn't want her to look like an alien but i wanted it to be pink because this will appeal to the target audience and it also relates to the visual style of the two other products with its bold colours. After starting with florescent pink i found dimming down the effect really worked, i also have the background a greyish tint that was really aesthetically pleasing to look at. After doing this and was happy, i made the final touches like focusing on her face and sharpening the picture; i added on to the background of the website. I then changed around the composition of the elements on the front page, such as the navigation bar (to make the bar stand out i manipulated it so that when the mouse hovers over it , it turns pink) and the video that would play on loop (this was so that the song would get stuck I'n the fans heads). After happy with the front page i went on to the social page and decided to make Maria a twitter account. I used my own email and made a password, i made up some tweets and then put a twitter feed and follow button on to the website; next to this was an instagram page where we uploaded picture of Maria in her day to day life. I then put tour dates on to the events page. On some pages such as the picture and the video page, i didn't want the page to seem to crowded so for this instead of having the background picture of Maria i used colours such as blue and pink to go behind these elements.
