Evaluation Task 3, what kind of media institution might distribute your product, and why?
Unfortunately our film is not going to be picked up by a big distribution company like warner brothers or 20th century fox. We do not have any big actors like Brad Pitt that they could use to advertise the film, or even a director like Tarantino.

We don't have any ready made fans as we are not using pre sold elements like characters and stories that are already extremely popular. If our film was maybe called Harry Potter part 11 it would be sold globally as the distributors know it would sell as its very mainstream and has a huge franchise behind it.
Sadly our product is a niche film targeted at a small audience; and as it is a student film there will be no spectacular special effects, stunts or elaborate sets.
If I was lucky enough to get a distribution company for my film I would love it to be with someone like
Sony Pictures International Distribution arm of media giant, which deals almost exclusively with films produced in-house.Titles include: Spider-Man, Hostel, The Da Vinci Code
UK titles include: Casino Royale
You can see just how successful it has been with the other films it has distributed and with this kind off reputation how could I not want to be with them. Also the films they distribute are quite similar to mine in genre and with target audience.
Most likely though it would be
best that we would distribute it our selves.
If it was going to be distributed by ourselves; as of our ago 16-18 we would most likely do it through word of mouth on social network. As if on person talks about it- it could get the ball rolling for re-tweets and likes raising awareness and demand.
If showing our films in theatres we would have to show it in just 2D seeming as we didn't film it with a special IMAX camera or 3D as we just don't have the budget too; and also our film doesn't really need it.
Selling in homes is something I really had to think about; how would we get it to our audience. The way I came up with is probably through iTunes if we sold it for about 99p or even less- yes we wouldn't get the much money we at least we would be getting it out there and are target audience or a younger range will appeal to this more. Also most likely through amazon as well. Not on a Blu-ray disk or anything like that as we just don't have the money and it wouldn't really sell on selves next to films which are well known.
